Network Troubleshooting

If you're encountering issues with Blish HUD remaining unresponsive for long periods of time at launch or other issues, this tool can help you identify if there is an issue connecting to Blish HUD's web APIs.

Deutsche Telekom AG (DTAG) Peering

We've come to learn that Deutsche Telekom AG customers may experience extreme slowness or timeouts when accessing our domains. This is due to a long-standing peering dispute between DTAG and Cloudflare.

Possible Workarounds:

  • Use a VPN: This changes your routing path and typically resolves the issue immediately.
  • Switch to Mobile Data: If your mobile provider is not DTAG (e.g., O2 or Vodafone), it may load instantly.

Understanding Your Results

The top right of each tile will indicate the amount of time (in milliseconds) a resource took to load. If you're seeing times greater than 1000ms (1 second) there may be an issue with routing to our servers from your internet service provider. If any of the requests fail (even on retry), your internet service provider may be blocking the request.

Is It Packet Loss?

This tool primarily measures Latency. However, if you see results that vary wildly (e.g., jumping from 40ms to 500ms and back), you may be experiencing Packet Loss. To confirm this, we recommend running a long-form test via your Command Prompt:

  1. Press the Windows Key and type cmd.
  2. Type ping -n 50 assets.gw2dat.com or ping -n 50 pkgs.blishhud.com and press Enter.
  3. After 50 pings, look for the "Lost" percentage. Anything above 0% indicates a network stability issue.
